When considering moving, you need to start making arrangements from 3 to 6 months prior to the date of the relocation. Normally the first step would be to organize for a quotation of the costs of transporting the goods to your final destination. Redwood will provide a free, no obligation estimate based on a survey of your personal effects. Our surveyor will check, measure, and quantify the items to be moved, and will then come back with an estimate based on the information he has gathered, together with an estimate of packing materials to be used, and labour required. At this stage quotes are based on estimates and are not final, but a very close approximation.
Once quote has been accepted, we will then proceed to arrange a date when goods can be packed and taken into storage. This is agreed by the client, closer to the date of moving. All items are carefully packed to export standards by our qualified team of packers, using approved packing materials at our disposal. If necessary, custom made special containers would be provided by us, for special / delicate items. The safety and security of these goods, during transit is of the utmost priority. Whether it's a priceless work of art or simply a mattress, the way your effects are packed is extremely important. For this reason, we at Redwood consider each item separately, and use appropriate packing for them.

For example, cardboard boxes are used to transport crockery and glass, but each individual item is wrapped in tissue, paper or bubble wrap. This is extremely effective, when packed correctly, which is what our packers have been trained for. Modern solutions to packing means that we now have more specialised packing materials for such items as Sofas, Mattresses, clothing etc., which provide greater protection for these items than ever before. We will also custom pack fragile items. Wooden crates are specially designed to protect and carry such items like antiques, paintings etc. These crates offer greater stability during transport, as they are custom built around the item to be shipped.
If your goods have to remain in storage before being shipped to final destination, Redwood use a containerised system for storage locally. This method offers maximum security with the minimum of handling. If you require storage, your possessions are carefully packed into one or more containers. These containers are then secured, with details accurately recorded for future retrieval. These are placed in safe storage in our warehouse until they are ready to be shipped. For extra protection, our warehouse has an electronic security system and these facilities provide a safe, clean and secure way of protecting your personal effects in either short or long-term storage.
Should you require urgent delivery of certain items, we are able to ship these goods by air to any destination. At your request, these goods can either be picked up from Airport of destination, or we can arrange to have the goods cleared through customs and delivered to your new residence.
Large consignments are usually forwarded to final destination either by Overland groupage service of by sea (Full container load). These are the most cost effective methods. Once the goods leave Gibraltar, our agents at destination will take control of the goods, and they will arrange for all customs formalities, and arrange with clients to deliver the goods at the client's convenience.

Many UK removal companies find themselves in difficulties once they arrive at the Spanish - Gibraltar border, due to incorrect documentation or no documentation at all. We can tranship consignments from vehicles straight onto our smaller vehicles that are ideal for the narrow streets of Gibraltar. The goods can also be stored in our warehouse for delivery at a later date.
Packing by our experienced staff can be prearranged using high quality packing materials, should your company require. We can also supply packing materials to the client should they wish to pack the goods themselves.
