James Bishop appointed Director of Redwood Int’l Ltd on the
1st January 2009-01-29

James Bishop was born in Gibraltar in 1964 and shortly after left for the UK, where he remained until 1995. He first lived in Fulham and then at the age of 11 his family moved to East Molesey in Surrey. At the age of 16 he started working in the wholesale/retail business with fruit & vegetable and remained with the same company of about 15 year.  Returning to Gibraltar and not knowing if he would stay he did a couple of part time jobs. One of those jobs was a HGV driver for Redwood Int’l Ltd, as he had met Mr. Danny Gabay (Managing Director of Redwood) on previous visits to Gibraltar through a common friend who had been a neighbour of James for 20 years in Molesey.

Shortly after starting part time with Redwood in 1996 a vacancy came up and James was offered a full time position as a driver. After a couple of years in 1998 James took an administrative post to deal with the groupage service to and from the UK. In 2001 he was promoted to Manager of the Removals & Import & Export departments, and then in 2003 to Logistic Manager with overall responsibility for the warehouse, distribution and removals..

He has recently been appointed a Director at Redwood (Intl) Ltd in appreciation for the dedication and efforts he has put into the organisation. He will continue to oversee all Operations within Redwood to ensure that the high levels of service normally associated with the organisation continue.

"Redwood are pleased to announce that they have been acredited with the prestigious Investors In People standard"

As a result he was nominated for the Petrie Memorial Award, which is a top national award presented by the Chartered Management Institute. After being short listed and undergoing an interview at the CMI headquarters he was successful in securing the award which was presented to him at the Gold Medal Dinner at the Lancaster Hotel on March 20th 2003.

After a thorough vetting process, Redwood has also recently been appointed individual members of The Federation Of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA). Further to this, as part their continuous development, Redwood have succesfully participated in an ISO 9000 program to receive an International quality control accreditation, which was completed on November 2004.
