Introduction

Redwood Int’l Ltd was established in October 1994 to meet the demands of shipping companies who required an express service for the movement of urgent ship spares for vessels calling in at Gibraltar. Since then we have increased our customer base considerably and expanded to provide a variety of services for which we have earned a reputation for our professional, efficient and courteous service.

Today Redwood employs twenty employees, with four offices situated at the Gibraltar Airport, and one office at the Customs Entry Processing Unit at the land frontier with Spain. We have two warehouses, one below our offices at the airport and a new state of the art warehouse, situated at North Mole Industrial Estate. With a fleet of eight vehicles and plant equipment, we are able to cater for all types of transport requirements.

Our staff have a vast experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding and transport. Our offices are ideally situated to take advantage of the incoming traffic through the Gibraltar Airport, and land frontier for local delivery, and in transit both to Spain and vessels calling at Gibraltar.

In 2002, our MD enrolled in a postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management, with Durham University, in which he was successful in completing the course. As a result he was nominated for the Petrie Memorial Award, which is a top national award presented by the Chartered Management Institute. After being short listed and undergoing an interview at the CMI headquarters he was successful in securing the award which was presented to him at the Gold Medal Dinner at the Lancaster Hotel on March 20th 2003.

Our Commercial Manager, Kenneth Golt also undertook the Diploma in Management with Durham University and successfully completed the course.

After a thorough vetting process, Redwood has also recently been appointed individual members of The Federation Of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA). Further to this, as part of their continuous development, Redwood also participated successfully in an ISO 9000 program to receive an International quality control accreditation.
Range of services

We handle quickly and efficiently all aspects of freight forwarding including imports, exports, transport, warehousing and distribution all under one roof. We have established a network for freight forwarding both in United Kingdom and Europe. Representing locally both Bax Global and DFDS Transport, we are able to offer a complete service via airfreight with coverage between the two companies of over 600 offices worldwide. We also offer land freight United Kingdom to Gibraltar and vice versa with our agents Wolf International Freight Ltd, and sea freight using reputable representatives. As agents locally for Allied Pickfords, we also specialise in Home & Office removals, including Packing, Storing and forwarding to final destination. Free estimates are available.

Redwood has been involved in a variety of operations, ranging from the hire of the first 500 ton crane to be imported into Gibraltar to carry out repairs onboard a satellite launcher in Gibraltar, to the transport of twenty five Barbary Macaques to a safari park in Frankfurt by Charter plane. We have assisted companies carrying out business in Morocco with customs documentation and transport, and have also been involved in major port operations in Gibraltar, including the movements of luggage to and from the P & O cruise liner “Victoria” for the 750 passengers embarking and disembarking at Gibraltar.

Customs clearance

Well-trained and approved Customs Clearance staff enables precision and efficient clearances of goods through customs, enabling consignee to receive goods within shortest possible time schedule. Customs Import and Export Clearances can be arranged at both origin and destination.

Freight Forwarding

As an international freight forwarder, Redwood is able to offer a complete package via Air, Sea and Overland transport. We have established a network for Freight Forwarding to and from worldwide destinations. Our staff has a vast experience in the industry, and has been trained specifically for this. We provide tailor made solutions for all your logistics requirements, offering time definite deliveries and collections at competitive rates.

Air Freight

Through agency agreements, we can offer our services at over 500 offices, covering most worldwide destinations. With our offices and warehouse ideally situated at the Gibraltar Airport, we offer a complete range of airfreight services. We also offer our services for unaccompanied baggage, excess luggage and packaging. Persons arriving at the airport can be met on arrival, and customs formalities organised by our staff if required. For abnormal transport, we are able to charter special aircraft.

If required, we are also able to carry out handling of goods in and out of the aircraft and warehousing, using our own personnel and equipment.

Sea Freight

Shipments can be arranged to and from most worldwide destinations at very competitive rates either via Gibraltar or Algeciras, which is a major hub in the region and services most worldwide destinations. We also have a truck service to Rotterdam, and use this major Port for forwarding via seafreight to final destinations. Containers can be loaded and unloaded both on site, and at our warehouse situated within the Gibraltar Port.

Overland

We offer a weekly scheduled groupage service to and from the United Kingdom, and major European cities. Using our Dutch agents Scanex, we can offer express transport of urgent ship spares to worldwide destinations via Rotterdam. Full loads can also be organised at very competitive rates.
House & Office Removals

Since the very beginning, we have been subcontracted by UK companies to carry out removals. We have carried out the removals for the last four Governors, and have received letters of recommendation. Using our own staff and equipment, we are able to provide packing, warehousing and freight forwarding of personal effects to worldwide destinations. We also carry out Surveys and Estimates free of charge.
Transport

We are able to offer a full range of transport facilities using our own vehicles for local deliveries and Southern Spain. We have an established groupage service from La Linea, allowing us to consolidate shipments from mainland Spain, destined for Gibraltar, offering very competitive rates. Our vehicles are ideal for local deliveries, allowing us access to most areas in Gibraltar. All the vehicles have passes for accessing pedestrianised areas, and are equipped telecommunication equipment onboard, allowing us to provide a very efficient service.
Storage

With our new facilities in the Port area, and our existing facilities at the airport, Redwood is ideally situated to offer a full range of service for both Industrial and Domestic goods. We provide Storage and Collection / Distribution via our fleet of vehicles. The warehouse has extensive fire and security protection as well as having CCTV cameras installed. We have a state of the art weighbridge and a complete inventory of equipment of very high standard.

We can handle breakbulk, distribution, assembly services and strategic warehousing. Our experienced staff can provide a professional packing service, which can be undertaken at our warehouse, or if required, at the client’s premises. We also provide a packing service for valuable / delicate items- paintings, antiques etc.

Automatic check weights and measuring is carried out prior to forwarding of export consignments. If you are looking at outsourcing all your warehousing to a professional logistics company, Redwood makes an ideal partner.

We are ideally situated, due to Gibraltar’s geographic location, to cater for the shipping industry. With over 80,000 vessels transiting the Straits of Gibraltar, it is an ideal location to keep a stock of essential ship spares. We can provide a full package, including inventory control, customs formalities, delivery onboard etc.
Waste Disposal

We are licensed for the disposal of waste products, and regularly carry out waste disposals for Cruise Liners calling at the Port of Gibraltar.

Logistics

No piece is too big or small for us to move. We have personnel experienced in the movement of safes and oversized equipment. Risk assessments are provided before any of these services are carried out.
After Hours

We have a clerk on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a pager and mobile phone for after hours clearances and deliveries of urgent consignments.
Port Chemist

As part of the services provided to the maritime sector at Gibraltar, Redwood now offers the services of Port Chemist for all ship repair / port entry related matters. Mr Alex Trinidad B ENG, is a highly trained chemist, authorized by the Gibraltar Government Factories Inspectorate for issues of Hot

Work Permits, Tank Entry Permits, Gas Free Certificates for Tankers or work on Hazardous areas in any type of vessels.
